Keyfax.com
was registered and went live in 1995. Since then Keyfax has
continually pushed at the boundaries of not only what is
possible, but also what is both desirable and acceptable
in terms of web technology.
Skills encompass HTML, Java, Flash, PHP, and digital video/audio. By using these
and other technologies the presentation of musical experiences on the web, plus
the delivery of musical goods and services, can be fully explored and developed.
In 2001 Keyfax designed www.motifator.com as
a site for the newly released Yamaha Motif series of synthesizer workstations.
Within three months motifator.com was regularly receiving more than 1m hits a
month, and within a year the average had risen to more than 3m.
Motifator.com is a community-based website, placing great emphasis on feedback
and communication on its series of user forums. Alongside the forums are many
plain-speaking but highly informative pages called 'Behind The Manual,' plus
space for visitors to post their own compositions (free of charge), plus watch
digital video performances of top name users, and listen to audio demonstrations
in mp3 format.
The web store, 'the MotifMart' is both a friendly and sophisticated place to
shop for accessories that relate to the Yamaha Motif, from voice libraries to
gig bags.
This Miva-based e-Commerce engine offers a wide range of buying options (pre-loading
specific products or data on SmartMedia cards, CD, or custom hard drives), bundles,
and international shipping methods.
In 2002 Keyfax launched a second product-based site, Sninety.com, for the Yamaha
S90 synthesizer, and in 2003 Awinspire.com for the AW series of hard disk recorders,
mLANcentral for the burgeoning mLAN communication protocol, and 01xRay for the
01x digital mixer/controller.
In 2004 DTXperience was launched for the DTX series electronic drums, and ArrangerWorkstationfor high end 'arranger' keyboards such as Tyros and the PSR3000 & 1500.
In 2004 Keyfax was selected by international recording artist and producer Alan
Parsons to design and host his new official website at alanparsonsmusic.com.
The multimedia site not only features news, interviews, photography, video, and
ringtones, but also a complete e-store with merchandise that includes SoundScan-reported
CD sales.
In 2005 Keyfax was appointed as the official upgrade destination by leading software company Steinberg. SteinbergUpgrades.com has also been joined by a new US support site for Steinberg Users, SteinbergUsers.com.
Currently under construction in 2006 is a destination for users of products made by the groundbreaking Chinese manufacturer, CME: TheCMEsite.com
KeyRingTones.com is a division of Keyfax dedicated to ringtones. Presently this
is an information and demonstration site but will be providing direct downloadable
ringtones in the near future.
