Interfaces

Audio interfaces perform 2 vital tasks; they provide physical inputs and outputs for all your gear like microphones, instruments, monitors, etc. Audio interfaces also convert analog signals into digital signals that your computer understands and convert digital signal back into analog. When choosing an audio interface, consider what types of inputs you need, how many of each you need, whether you need built-in preamps, and/or phantom power. Consider what quality of conversion you need. Some interfaces convert audio up to a sample rate of 48 kHz, while others go up to 192 kHz, and each manufacturer has its own flavor of conversion.
